As runners, we’re all on the eternal quest for that secret ingredient to success. How can we get faster? What will push us over the edge in achieving that elusive PR? Most running experts agree: it isn’t just one magical thing, but rather a combination of elements that work together to help us achieve our peak performance.

Most runners know you have to put in the training to see results. What we oftentimes forget are the other pieces of the puzzle: proper self-care and nutrition.

Join Michael Conlon of Finish Line Physical Therapy and Nicci Schock of Nutrition for Athletes for an interactive “Take Care of Your Body” presentation on Monday, October 21, at 7:00 p.m., at Finish Line Physical Therapy.

Michael will demonstrate specific techniques to release trigger points, knots, and adhesions that can result from training – and restrict you in achieving full functional movement. You’ll be active for this portion of the presentation, so make sure to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes.

Nicci, both a nutritionist and licensed massage therapist, will talk about specific ways to support your digestion – a key indicator of your overall health. Nicci will discuss why digestive health is important to racing, how to know if your digestion is good, and three easy-to-incorporate practices to make sure your health is in PR shape.

** All participants will receive a 20% discount off any Trigger Point Products purchased at the event from Finish Line Physical Therapy PLUS a complimentary 30-minute phone session and 20% discount on packages (expires 11/21/2013) from Nutrition for Athletes. **

Is this useful for non marathon athletes as well?

Yes! The self-myofascial techniques Michael will demonstrate are useful for anyone who experiences pain, whether or not you’re training for anything. And digestive health is always a good thing to stay on top of! Hope you can join us.
