As athletes we want to be as prepared as possible for race day and often find ourselves using mental images to break down how we want the day to go.
The secret to this type of visualization lies in creating a mental image of easy and efficient running, and of achieving your target goal, whether that goal is based on just completing the event or hitting a specific finishing time.
Join 8-time NYC Marathon finisher and therapeutic yoga teacher to athletes, Amanda Kerpius, for a gentle runners yoga flow and Yoga Nidra meditation and visualization of the NYC Marathon course.
The evening will start with a gentle yoga flow designed to stretch major muscle groups and prepare the body for deep relaxation and lead into the meditation portion of the evening.
Never meditated before? The practice of Yoga Nidra, or yogic “sleep” can be performed by anyone! You will be guided the entire way with a body scan, awareness and intention setting that allows the mind to quiet and enter deep relaxation for a powerful visualization of the NYC Marathon course.
Leave your practice feeling relaxed, calm and ready to race your best (or first!) marathon rested, alert and strong.
