Myofascial Massage + Movement

Our Myofascial Massage + Movement session, which utilizes the Gray Institutes’s Functional Soft Tissue Transformation (FSTT) method, is a comprehensive soft tissue treatment that will also include some movement, depending on the specific needs of each person. Through soft tissue manipulation (massage), as well as movement, we will identify and resolve restrictions and dysfunction that may be hindering your performance.

Benefits of massage

Improved Range of Motion

Massage addresses adhesions and densities within the fascia and other tissue layers, allowing muscles to move more freely. When coupled with movement therapy, you can experience a significant improvement in range of motion. Physical therapists can identify specific areas of restriction and develop movement-based strategies to address these limitations effectively.

Reduced Muscle Tension

Combining massage with movement therapy reduces muscle tension and addresses underlying issues contributing to pain, resulting in better pain management. Through a combination of hands-on techniques and targeted exercises, individuals can address these underlying issues, ultimately reducing pain levels and improving overall function.

Enhanced Recovery

Myofascial massage helps improve circulation and lymphatic drainage, reducing swelling in affected areas. Movement therapy complements this by promoting gentle, controlled movements that encourage fluid movement and decrease fluid buildup. By reducing swelling, individuals experience faster recovery times following injury or intense exercise sessions. This allows for quicker return to activities and reduced downtime.
