Raise your hand if the term “physical therapy” makes you think, “That’s not for me. I’m not injured.”
(Are you raising your hand? We know you’ve thought it before!)
Just in time for the start of fall marathon training—primarily, for the Chicago, Marine Corps, and New York City Marathons—this interactive seminar will focus on how a proactive “prehab not rehab” approach to training will help you avoid injury and achieve your peak performance.
Most endurance athletes experience aches & pains throughout the training process. Whether you complain of soreness in your hamstrings, pain in your knees, or tightness in your hips—the repetitive patterns and stresses we expose our bodies to cause limitations in our movement patterns.
The good news is, you can reverse the repetitive stress of training! Incorporating prehabilitation – or “prehab” – into your training regimen is one of the most effective ways to minimize limitations and reduce the aches & pains, which in turn allows you to train consistently at maximum effort and feel more prepared for your race. A few simple tweaks can mean a modest—if not significant—PR. Who doesn’t love that?
Hosted by Michael Conlon, owner of Finish Line Physical Therapy, we will discuss the importance of “functional” flexibility, mobility, strength, stability, endurance, and self-myofascial release. This seminar will be as interactive as you want, so feel free to bring workout gear.
** All attendees will receive a FREE Peak Performance Analysis screening from Finish Line PT PLUS a 30-minute run on the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill if you schedule your screening by Friday, August 2. This screening is one of the best ways to identify your movement patterns, gait analysis, and muscle imbalances. **
