Owner & CEO, Physical Therapist, Coach

Michael (@flptmichael) founded Finish Line Physical Therapy in 2006 to provide the highest quality of care, service and personal attention in a comfortable, supportive and friendly atmosphere. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from Hogeschool Enschede in the Netherlands and has been a New York State licensed physical therapist since 1997. Michael is recognized as a Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS) through the internationally acclaimed Gray Institute.

Alison McGinnis, PT, DPT, FAFS, FRCms

CLINICAL DIRECTOR, Physical Therapist

Alison – @amcginnis_dpt (she/her) graduated from Northwestern University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and has been with Finish Line PT since 2011. She is recognized as a Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS) through the internationally acclaimed Gray Institute. She attended the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill for her undergraduate work and competed as a pole vaulter on the varsity track and field team for all four years.

Morgan Mowers

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Morgan received her doctoral degree in physical therapy from Rutgers University School of Health Professions. She completed her undergraduate degree in exercise science and physiology at Rutgers University, where she was captain of the club lacrosse team. She was also a running coach with Rutgers Runs Proud, a program focused on teaching inner-city elementary-aged girls about healthy lifestyles. She interned at TEST football academy, creating individualized strength and conditioning programs for college football players while they trained for the NFL combine.

Samantha Jacobsen

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Samantha completed her undergraduate education with a degree in Nutrition Science from Syracuse University and went on to receive her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from New York University (NYU). We welcome Samantha to the team in 2019 but she has been around since the beginning, 2006, watching Finish Line PT as we grew! Samantha has always been active, playing soccer, lacrosse and running throughout high school and finally dabbling in triathlons during her college career so becoming a PT who works with an endurance athlete population is right down her alley!

Jaclyn Massi

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Jaclyn received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from NYU.  She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and also specializes in women’s health having studied the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Floor Level 1 course. Jackie first wanted to be a physical therapist after her own personal PT experience.  When Jackie was in physical therapy for a spinal fusion she was limited and not able to participate in sports for a couple of years.  The limitations made the rehab difficult and she struggled with motivation for her recovery. However, watching others around her go through their rehab really motivated and excited her to see their progress. It is what showed her she wanted to help people during the most challenging aspect of an injury, their recovery.

Tim Waanders

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Tim received his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Long Island University – Brooklyn. Prior to that, he completed his undergraduate education with a degree in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University, where he also minored in Sport & Exercise Psychology with a concentration in Aquatic Therapy.

Jimmy Williams

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Jimmy completed his undergraduate education with a degree in exercise science at Florida State University then went on to receive his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Rutgers University. Prior to moving up North, he was a running and triathlon coach in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he coached athletes of all ages and skill levels.

Connor Hesselbirg

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Connor received his doctoral degree in physical therapy from Stony Brook University, and completed his undergraduate degree in exercise science at Salisbury University, where he also ran cross country and track – though he grew up playing soccer.

Mandy Fox

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Mandy completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Columbia University. She was inspired to go into physical therapy as an athlete for her whole life. Dance was her first love, she did 20+ years of ballet, lyrical, etc., as well as figure skating and gymnastics. Mandy started running at 13 to cross-train for her other sports. She became a PT because she wanted to use movement to help others feel better and stronger. She wanted to learn how to help her friends on her running team stop getting injured or at least how to fix it.  Mandy is passionate about runners and helping the running community.  FLPT is the exact patient community she set out to serve when she became a physical therapist.

Ryan Matisko

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Ryan joins Finish Line PT as an experienced physical therapist.  After working in sports rehabilitation on Long Island & the UES, he is excited to continue his physical therapy career at FLPT!  Ryan completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy at NYU and is a certified RRCA run coach, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and a EXOS Performance Specialist.

Lindsay is a native of Rockland County, NY, and she attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst for undergrad and SUNY Upstate Medical University for her Doctor of Physical Therapy. She is passionate about working with athletes and helping them reach their goals.

Ryan Choi – New Rochelle

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Ryan worked as a Gyrotonic® instructor in the city. Through this experience, he worked with world ranked Latin/Ballroom dancers, NBA players, and ABT dancers. He knew he wanted to become a physical therapist as he understood what movement can do to help improve not only athletes’ performance but also individuals’ everyday movement.

Insurance Coordinator

Megan is the point person for all insurance inquiries, working with patients to streamline the insurance process by proactively checking benefits and determining coverage. Megan joined the Finish Line staff in 2013 but has been part of the running community since joining Team in Training in 2009.

Marketing Lead

Hannah officially joins the Finish Line team after being a long time fan coming in for physical therapy and recovery services. She heads our marketing initiatives and community events. As a New York transplant from Louisiana, she loves being a part of the running community and the sense of family it has given her.

Jeff joins Finish Line’s all-star front desk staff, assisting patients with scheduling, insurance inquiries and billing. He joined the Finish Line staff in 2017 but has been part of the NYC endurance community for many years and currently runs with Harlem Run. He graduated from Baruch College with a degree in marketing management.

Farah joins the Finish Line PT team as part of our awesome front desk and patient representative team. When she’s not at Finish Line PT, you’ll be able to catch Farah coaching in the park with NYRR and doing her own runs on the West Side Highway or Prospect Park.  Actually, you’ll be able to find her running all over NYC later this year as she takes on TGNY100!

CEO, Official Mascot

Finish Line said goodbye to Miles, our CEO and everyone’s favorite four-legged friend, in February 2016. Miles was always the most popular employee at Finish Line, greeting everyone with a smile and hello. He made people feel comfortable, ensuring their visit to Finish Line was a memorable one (usually by shedding or drooling on their clothes). His hobbies included running, swimming and playing fetch in Central Park.

Finn

COO

Finn in the newest doggo member of the Finish Line Team, joining us as a mere pup in 2019. He is currently learning the ropes around here. Finn apologizes if he runs into you while you are foam rolling or tries to take your sock when you are recovering in the compression sleeves! Despite his lack of body awareness, Finn is of course very friendly and ready to greet you at your first session or hang out in the treatment room with you for some soft tissue work of his own (pets are encouraged).
