What to expect
We’ve created an open and inviting environment that supports people throughout the journey from injury back to full functional movement. We’re a community of like-minded, goal-oriented athletes ourselves, and we believe recovery works best when patients feel comfortable and cared for. We provide extensive one-to-one patient to therapist interaction in both assessing your unique condition and building a customized functional rehabilitation program.
FIRST VISIT: EVALUATION
The Finish Line experience starts with a comprehensive, 45-minute three-dimensional evaluation that includes both a review of your medical history as well as an objective functional assessment of your current condition.
We’ll take you through a series of tests and exercises to help determine the root cause of your specific condition:
-
A subjective history: Why are you here? What is causing your pain or limitation? Your PT will chat with you about what brings you in, your history, and ask questions to learn more about where you are today and what your goals might be.
-
3D functional assessment using various balance-reach and excursion tests: How does your body move through all three planes of functional movement? What do your movement patterns look like and do they reveal potential weaknesses and imbalances?
-
Fitness and gait analysis: Your PT will analyze your gait by watching you walk, perform certain exercises, and may even have you hop on the treadmill to see you run.
Make sure to wear comfortable gym clothes. You won’t be sitting still for long! Shorts and a t-shirt, for example, will allow your physical therapist to perform their evaluation most optimally (we have extras if you forget). If you are an endurance athlete, bring your running shoes for accurate inspection and for running gait analysis.

Following the evaluation, we’ll review your goals, discuss a treatment plan and devise an individualized home-exercise program based on our findings.
FOLLOW-UP VISITS: TREATMENT
Follow-up appointments are 45 minutes, one-on-one with the physical therapist, and are structured around a functional, biomechanical approach that utilizes the most current research in rehabilitation. We don’t merely treat symptoms, and we don’t have a one-size-fits-all formula for treatment. Instead we use various forms of functional manual therapies and 3D exercises to help you build strength, flexibility and balance.

We’ll discuss your progress and how you feel your body is responding in the midst of the normal, daily activities you engage in. We’re constantly evaluating, tweaking and treating to help you recover as quickly as possible.

As a heads up, there’s a chance you might sweat during your treatments. We have shower facilities available if needed after sessions.
