The Skinny

  • Hometown: Rockland County, NY
  • College: University of Massachusetts, Amherst for undergraduate and SUNY Upstate Medical University for Doctor of Physical Therapy
  • Favorite TV Show: My favorite show that I always find myself going back to is New Girl. I can watch it over and over and never get tired of it.
  • Favorite Sports Teams: I have been a New York Mets fan my whole life and recently became a Buffalo Bills fan while going to school in Syracuse, NY.
  • Why did you want to work with an athletic population/the NYC endurance athlete community?I began running recreationally in college as a form of stress relief and soon found myself entering into races. I started with 5k’s and then 10k’s and eventually I ran a half marathon. Struggling with several injuries myself, I learned about the importance of rehab, cross training and proper programming that would enhance my performance as a runner. While getting my doctorate in Physical Therapy, I learned about the biomechanics of running and how to alter those biomechanics to optimize running efficiency. Combining the experiences of my own running journey with the knowledge I learned in school allows me to treat the NYC athletic population return to sport pain-free.  I aim to use my skills as an athlete and physical therapist to teach my patients to be stronger, faster and healthier.
  • Favorite Race: My favorite race is my hometown 5-mile Turkey Trot that my family and I run together every year. I love being able to accomplish a goal together and cheer each other on.

What I Like:

  • About working at FLPT:The staff at FLPT create a warm and welcoming environment that is conducive to healing and recovery. I enjoy working with professionals who make it their priority to help patients reach their goals by providing thoughtful and individualized care. Together our team looks out for one another, creating a supportive culture that is focused on learning and growing within the field of Physical Therapy.
  • About FLPT patients: The best part of FLPT patients is their passion for their sport and motivation to get better.
  • About running & sports: I like working out because it makes me feel strong, connected to my body and my healthiest self, both physically and mentally. My favorite forms of exercise are running, strength training and tennis. Running is my way of getting outside, exploring the city and being part of a larger community. Strength training allows me to do everything I want to do on a daily basis and helps me with injury prevention. I like Tennis because it is strategic, unpredictable and requires the focus and skill that motivates me to be better.
