Ryan Choi – New Rochelle
PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Ryan worked as a Gyrotonic® instructor in the city. Through this experience, he worked with world ranked Latin/Ballroom dancers, NBA players, and ABT dancers. He knew he wanted to become a physical therapist as he understood what movement can do to help improve not only athletes’ performance but also individuals’ everyday movement.

If you’ve worked with Ryan already, then you’ve met Dooly, Dooly, Ryan’s dog, works full time at FLPT and loves to greet everyone. He supervises all his patients while they are training at the gym. Most importantly, he will be your best friend if you bring him treats.

Lindsay grew up playing tennis, softball, & soccer and now plays tennis for fun and runs to stay active. Her most recent win on the court came during FLPT’s Team Pickleball Tournament! She’s a lifelong Mets fan and started following the Buffalo Bills after her time in upstate NY.

The Skinny

  • Hometown: New Rochelle, NY
  • College: The Ohio State University for undergraduate and Columbia University for Doctor of Physical Therapy
  • Favorite TV Show: Infinite Challenge (Korean show)
  • Favorite Sports Teams: The Ohio State Buckeyes
  • Why did you want to work with an athletic population/the NYC endurance athlete community? I find the athletic population in many communities to set high expectations for themselves. I love to use their high expectations/motivations to guide my treatment. My treatment style is heavily influenced by what the patients bring to the table. For example, if a patient is a runner, I will influence all my plan of care geared towards his or her goals.
  • Favorite Sports to play: In high school, it was tennis; college, it was soccer, tennis, & golf; currently, I play tennis & golf.

What I Like:

  • About working at FLPT: Working at FLPT has been a blessing. I love working in the New Rochelle office and meeting new patients. I was always told to find a job where you feel excited to come to work, and FLPT has been that kind of place for me.
  • About FLPT patients: I work with a diverse group at FLPT. My patients vary from teenagers to elderly, competitive to leisure athletes, collegiate to weekend warriors. But aside from the diverse group, one thing that all my patients have in common is the motivation to improve. I love using this motivation to help patients achieve their goals.
